    Robotask v3.1

    Install, copy cracked file

    ------------------------------------------------------

It can automate any series of tasks you can do on your computer system
RoboTask can easily automate any series of tasks on your computer system, whether you are a novice
or advanced user. You dont even have to know how to programuse RoboTask to build your own automated solutions
quickly and easily. Yet RoboTask is powerful.

RoboTask will help users avoid losing important information when they will create a backup task for
placing files on a remote server.

The software can manage and trigger a wide variety of repetitive tasks to save your valuable time.
With RoboTask, you dont need complicated batch files or scripts.

Here are many examples of what RoboTask can do for you:
    Runs applications and open documents.
    Manages automatic backups.
Alerts you of any changes in your folders.
Shuts down Windows and powers off your computer triggered by any event you choose.
Processes files and folders (copies, moves, renames, deletes).
Works with FTP and Web servers (downloads, uploads, etc).
Sends letters and files by e-mail.
Starts and stops Windows NT services.
    Sends network
    messages as WinPopups.
    Acts as an alarm clock.

RoboTask can be used for an unlimited number of tasks. When creating a task, you decide what the task
needs to do and when. Every task has two parts:
    Actions
    Triggering events

    Actions

First, you must decide what actions you want to accomplish. You can select built-in actions in RoboTask
    to accomplish the following:

    Run applications.
    Open or print documents.
    Emulate your keystrokes.
File and folder processing (copy, move, delete, rename, synchronize folders).
Work with FTP servers (download, upload, rename, delete).
Work with e-mail (check for e-mail, send e-mail).
Work with ZIP files (pack files, extract files).
Work with windows (focus, maximize, minimize, restore, close, hide, unhide).
Flow control (if-then, file loop, text loop, dataset loop, and so forth).

    Triggering events

A triggering event can be one of the following:
    A specific time
When something happens on your computer.

Practically anything that happens on your computer can trigger RoboTask to perform an action. An example
would be when RoboTask automatically updates a log and uploads it to a website whenever you receive an email
with a subject that is a particular string of words or contains a word such as Important.

The following are examples of triggering events:
    Scheduler (at a specified time).
Hot Keys (when a special key is pressed).
Tray Icon (when you double-click it).
File Monitor (when a particular file is created, destroyed, changed, renamed).
Dial-up Connection Monitor (when a connection is made or broken).
Window Watcher (when a window is created, activated, closed, and so forth).
System Events (time, spooler, device, display changed, log on, log off, on idle).

Hakia - First Meaning-based Search Engine

    www.hakia.com

There has been a lot of talk lately about 2007 being the year when we will see companies roll out Semantic Web technologies. The wave started with John Markoff's article in NY Times and got picked up by Dan Farber of ZDNet and in other media. For background on the Semantic Web in this era, check out our post entitled The Road to the Semantic Web. Also for a lengthy, but very insightful, primer on Semantic Web see Nova Spivak's recent article.

The media attention is not accidental. Because Semantic Web promises to help solve information overload problems and deliver major productivity gains, there is a huge amount of resources, engineering and creativity that is being thrown at the Semantic Web.

What is also interesting is that there are different problems that need to be solved, in order for things to fall into place. There needs to be a way to turn data into metadata, either at time of creation or via natural language processing. Then there needs to be a set of intelligence, particularly inside the browser, to take advantage of the generated metadata. There are many other interesting nuances and sub-problems that need to be solved, so the Semantic Web marketplace is going to have a rich variety of companies going after different pieces of the puzzle. We are planning to cover some of these companies working in the Semantic Web space, so watch out for more coverage here on Read/WriteWeb.

Hakia: how is it different from Google?

The first company we'll cover is Hakia, which is a "meaning-based" search engine startup getting a bit of buzz. It is a venture-backed, multi-national team company headquartered in New York - and curiously has former US senator Bill Bradley as a board member. It launched its beta in early November this year, but already ranks around 33K on Alexa - which is impressive. They are scheduled to go live in 2007.

Ecma Office Open XML Document Format Appears to Win Approval

REDMOND, Wash. - April 1, 2008 — After more than 14 months of intensive review, a Joint Technical Committee of the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has concluded its formal process to evaluate Ecma International’s submission of the Draft International Standard (DIS) 29500: Office Open XML (Open XML).

While the final vote has not yet been announced formally, publicly available information appears to indicate the proposed Open XML standard received extremely broad support. According to documents available on the Internet, 86 percent of all voting national body members support ISO/IEC standardization, well above the 75 percent requirement for formal acceptance under ISO and IEC rules. In addition, 75 percent of the voting Participating national body members (known as P-members) support standardization, also well above the 66.7 percent requirement for this group. Open XML now joins HTML, PDF and ODF as ISO- and IEC-recognized open document format standards.

“With 86 percent of voting national bodies supporting ratification, there is overwhelming support for Open XML. This outcome is a clear win for the customers, technology providers and governments that want to choose the format that best meets their needs and have a voice in the evolution of this widely adopted standard,” said Tom Robertson, general manager of Interoperability and Standards at Microsoft Corp. “The input from technical experts, customers and governments around the world has greatly improved the Open XML specification and will make it even more useful to developers and customers. Once it is formally approved, we are committed to supporting this specification in our products, and we will continue to work with standards bodies, governments and the industry to promote greater interoperability and innovation.”

The open standard has gained broad adoption across the software industry for use on a variety of platforms — including Linux, Windows, Solaris OS, Mac OS and Palm OS. Hundreds of independent software vendors and platform providers around the world — such as Apple Inc., Corel Corp., Sun Microsystems Inc., Microsoft and Novell Inc. — are developing solutions using Open XML that offer real value for IT users around the globe. Independent research has concluded that use of Open XML is likely to expand further over time.*

Thousands of companies have expressed support for Open XML and its ratification by ISO (http://www.iso.org) and IEC at http://www.openxmlcommunity.org.

Those working with Open XML can attest to the benefits of this open file format in the areas of file and data management, data recovery, interoperability with line-of-business systems, and the long-term preservation of documents. The formats are optimized for the level of precision and detail that facilitates carrying forward billions of existing files. Open XML file formats are uniquely capable of integrating other types of systems and data with Open XML documents, while maintaining a clean, simple separation of presentation (Open XML markup) and data (custom schemas and instances thereof). This means that organizations can use Open XML formats to report information from other applications and systems without having to translate it first, which is a key innovation for developers seeking to incorporate real-time business information into their documents, or those who seek to “tag” documents with their own categorization system to improve their understanding of the documents’ contents.

More information about Open XML, as well as available solutions using the open standard specification, is available at http://www.openxmlcommunity.org/inuse.aspx.

Founded in 1975, Microsoft (Nasdaq “MSFT”) is the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions that help people and businesses realize their full potential.

    Google Talk, Labs Edition

There's a new flavor of Google Talk: the Labs edition, a desktop client that looks very similar to the Google Talk gadget and has most of its features. The application doesn't support voice chat or file transfer, it's still Windows-only, but it has some new features: it lets you launch Google Calendar and Orkut, while including notifications for Google Calendar events and Orkut scraps. The new Google Talk uses WebKit to render some parts of the interface.

I don't find too many reasons why someone would switch from the full-featured client to the Labs edition: group chats, smilies, tabs, while the missing features are more important. A better decisions would have been to integrate these new features in the desktop client, instead of releasing a separate application. Now we have four different flavors of Google Talk: the original client, Gmail Chat, the gadget and the Labs edition.

    Google App Engine

Google isn’t just talking about hosting applications in the cloud any more. They’ve launched Google App Engine, an ambitious new project that offers a full-stack, hosted, automatically scalable web application platform. It consists of Python application servers, BigTable database access and GFS data store services.

At first blush this is a full on competitor to the suite of web services offered by Amazon, including S3 (storage), EC2 (virtual servers) and SimpleDB (database).

However,Unlike Amazon Web Services’ loosely coupled architecture, which consists of several essentially independent services that can optionally be tied together by developers, Google’s architecture is more unified but less flexible. For example, it is possible with Amazon to use their storage service S3 independently of any other services, while with Google using their BigTable service will require writing and deploying a Python script to their app servers, one that creates a web-accessible interface to BigTable.

The service is completely free during the beta period, but there are ceilings on usage. Applications cannot use more than 500 MB of total storage, 200 million megacycles/day CPU time, and 10 GB bandwidth (both ways) per day.

One current limitation is a requirement that applications be written in Python, a popular scripting language for building modern web apps (Ruby and PHP are among others widely used). Google says that Python is just the first supported language, and that the entire infrastructure is designed to be language neutral. Google’s initial focus on Python makes sense because they use Python internally as their scripting language.

The camera behind Google Maps 360-degree View

In case you missed it, Google recently launched a new feature on its mapping service that allows people to see a 360-degree view of many streets in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Las Vegas, Denver and Miami.
Immersive Media, one of the companies helping Google map out the world in 360-degrees, uses a pretty interesting device to achieve the goal. Don’t take this the wrong way though, Google isn’t relying on another company to do their dirty work. The web search giant also has its own vehicles, equipped with higher resolution cameras, taking snapshots of the streets in all their glory. Still, a disco ball with 11 individual lenses mounted on top of a Volkswagen Beetle is quite an interesting way to go about it, wouldn’t you say?

    First Look: Microsoft Surfacing Computing!

Channel 10 has revealed the Microsoft Surface Computer, a fully functioning multi-touch computing system – a project which started four years ago and will be launched later this year. "Surface computers will start with Microsoft partners getting first shot at various public applications, you'll most likely see them in action in Las Vegas first. Eventually prices will come down and production will go up and I expect we'll all be waving through our playlists on our coffee table before we know it," according to Channel 10's Larry Larsen.

In the video, Mark Bolger, Director of Marketing Surface Computing, explains to Larry Larsen what surface computing is all about. The computer is comprised of a Vista-based system, multiple cameras using infrared light and a DLP projector. “We’re looking at Microsoft’s first surface computer. We’re excited that we’re going to make an announcement for this product on May 30th, at the Wallstreet’s Journal D-conference. What we’re going to be doing is announcing that this product will be available later this year in commercial partners that we have lined up. Specifically, we’ll going to be going into hotels, retailers, entertainment venues, such as casino resorts.”

New ClamAV version fixes buffer overflow vulnerability

If you're running a version of ClamAV 0.90, now is the time to upgrade to version 0.90.2, released last Friday. This version contains a fix for a buffer overflow vulnerability, CVE-2007-1997, identified by iDefense. An attacker can convince a user (or mail gateway) to scan a maliciously crafted CAB file that could lead to arbitrary code execution under the user account running the scanner.

As a temporary workaround, you could drop CAB files prior to executing the scanner. This is particulary relevant for e-mail gateways, which generally only need to allow a limited set of filetypes. The CAB format is an archive often used by Microsoft for software distribution, so on a web proxy this may be problematic.
